The psychologists at Forest Psychological Clinic have extensive training in evidenced-based practices, specialized knowledge, and the ability to be culturally sensitive in order to tailor the treatment to you and your family’s needs. We can treat a range of disorders such as depression, anxiety, disruptive behaviors, trauma, substance use, autism, grief, along with a range of other disorders and issues.
At Forest Psychological Clinic we believe that no treatment is pre-determined and seek to work with the individual, child/teen, your family, and support group to find the treatment that works best for you. Furthermore, we seek to develop an inclusive environment that children, teens and adults can feel safe and secure in sharing their thoughts and feelings without judgment or criticism. In doing this, it can open the door to becoming self-aware, heal psychological pain, and learn new coping skills and ways of living.
Our clinicians are specialized in working with children/teens/young adults on numerous issues: anxiety; depression; substance abuse; disruptive behaviors; autism; ADHD; OCD; family stressors; among other conditions. We strive to tailor our therapeutic approach and evidence-based treatment modalities to fit our patient's developmental level and mental health needs.
Sports psychology is the practice of identifying and understanding psychological theories and techniques that can be applied to sport and exercise to enhance the performance and personal growth of athletes and exercisers. Sport psychology focuses on both an athlete’s mental health, their well-being, and optimization of their sports performance. Sports psychologists often have greater understanding of sports organizations and settings, along with the pressures and demands associated with playing a sport or performing at a higher level.

In working with couples, we are respectful of each individual’s perspectives, collaborative in our way of working, and always looking for strengths and un-tapped resources to help resolve issues.

If your teen/young adult is using alcohol or other substances please contact us. Dr. Thatcher has worked in both inpatient and outpatient treatment practices with teens and their substance use issues. Substance use is a poor coping skill for other mood or mental health issues (i.e. depression, anxiety). Thus, working on both the substance use and underlying issues, along with family support, is key for successful treatment.
