Dr. Bucina (she/her) is a licensed psychologist offering evidence-based therapy and assessment for adults. She has extensive experience working with a variety of presenting concerns including depression and anxiety, complex trauma and PTSD, substance use, relational stressors, and sex/intimacy concerns. Dr. Bucina values a collaborative, holistic approach to therapy and assessment, often working with other members of an individual’s care team and support system. She aims for culturally sensitive and strengths-based approaches with an emphasis on evidenced-based, gold-standard treatment and evaluation.
Dr. Bucina completed her predoctoral internship in upstate New York where she offered therapy, assessment, and clinical consultation within a prison-based treatment program for individuals who committed sex offenses as well as a psychiatric hospital for individuals civilly confined for sex offenses. She began her postdoctoral training in that program before ultimately returning to Oregon to complete her residency at a minimum-security prison. Dr. Bucina holds a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology as well as Bachelor of Science degrees in Psychology and Criminology. While attending her doctorate program, she trained in a community mental health clinic, private assessment practice, and several prisons in Oregon. Dr. Bucina has also worked and volunteered at a crisis hotline, emergency mental health center, residential treatment facility, and supported living home for individuals with traumatic brain injuries. She believes her broad and diverse training experiences greatly benefit her clinical practice.
In her free time, Dr. Bucina is an avid reader and amateur vegan chef. She loves spending time outdoors, seeing live music, and tending to her houseplant collection.
