Child, Teen, and Adult Therapist
Robin Behn (she/her) is a Pre-Licensed Professional who provides therapy for children, teens, adults, and older adults at Forest Psychological Clinic in Lake Oswego, Oregon. She works under the supervision and clinical licensure of Dr. James Thatcher, Licensed Psychologist (PSY 3386).
Robin believes that every person has unique strengths to build on. Her style is gentle, empowering, and centered on helping clients feel deeply understood.
Robin comes to counseling after decades of teaching and mentoring creative and neurodivergent students. She has seen how bright and capable people can feel misunderstood or pressured to hide important parts of who they are.
This inspired her to become a therapist who supports children, teens, and adults in discovering their identity, voice, and confidence.
Specialties
Robin primarily supports children and teens who are navigating autism, ADHD, anxiety, school stress, perfectionism, sensory needs, and friendship or family challenges. She also enjoys working with adults at different life stages who are seeking support with anxiety, burnout, grief, and significant life or career transitions. Across the lifespan, she helps clients strengthen coping skills, self-expression, and emotional well-being.
Robin brings a calm, curious, and collaborative energy to therapy. She helps clients practice skills that support confidence and daily functioning at home, at school, and at work. Her clinical style integrates CBT, mindfulness based strategies, humanistic care, and DBT skills through close supervision with Dr. Thatcher. When working with youth and families, Robin partners closely with caregivers and schools to help progress feel consistent and supported.
Robin views neurodiversity as a meaningful and valuable expression of human diversity. Her goal is to help clients better understand their nervous system, communicate their needs, and celebrate their strengths. Whether she is supporting a child learning emotional regulation, a teen navigating identity and belonging, or an adult adjusting to a late diagnosis, she offers compassion and practical tools that foster self-acceptance.
